Educating analytical thinkers for business and industry: A degree programme at the interface of technology and business

This degree program is primarily aimed at individuals who already have training in a technical field, three years’ relevant work experience and are looking to further their careers with an internationally recognized bachelor’s degree from a university of applied sciences. The degree also qualifies participants to study for a graduate degree both at home and abroad.

This degree program educates its participants to work systematically and analytically, cooperatively and dynamically as well as creatively and realistically at the interface of engineering and business. Graduates of Business Engineering are qualified to implement interdisciplinary projects in all branches of business and industry and the service sector.

Overview of Degree in Engineering with Business Administration

Degree: Bachelor
Length: Six semesters of part-time study
Semester dates and times: Winter Semester from the middle of September to the middle of February; Summer Semester from the beginning of March to mid-July.
Classes are held Fridays (2.00 p.m. til 9.30 p.m.) and Saturdays (8.00 a.m. til 3.00 p.m.), with one on-campus week per semester.
Required hours of study: Students have an average of eighteen contact hours per week. (This does not include the on-campus week, homework and project work.)
Methods of instruction: Appropriate mix of methods with a focus on such innovative forms of instruction and learning as problem based learning, self-organized leaning, expert lectures, projects and case studies, business games and exercises. A majority of the classes are taught in small groups.
Tuition fees: Per semester Euro 363,36 + Euro 15,86 membership fees for the Austrian Students' Association.

English and/or another foreign language: 5%

Students with a high-level of proficiency in English may elect to test out of English and either take Italian, French or Spanish as their first foreign language or continue taking English in combination with one of these other languages. In addition to language instruction, English is also the language of instruction of some content classes.
