ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING AND COMPUTER SCIENCE

Degree upon completion of studies:
Vocational Master Engineer of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

Duration and scope of studies:
2 years, 120 ECTS

Admission:
Completed BSc studies in the relevant field

Summary of the program:
The purpose of the study program is to educate a professional master engineer of professional studies in the field of electrical engineering and computing to work in responsible jobs in the fields of development, production, production planning and management, maintenance, design, etc. During the studies, students should acquire, confirm and improve skills in the relevant specific areas of electrical power engineering and electronics and computing, including IT skills. By choosing subjects, students qualify for a specific narrow field of electrical power systems, relay protection, electrical installations and lighting, electrotechnical materials, electromotor drives and machines, power electronics, electrical energy quality, information technologies, application software applications, production planning and management, production and information systems design, development of new technological processes and equipment.

At the Higher Technical School (later the High School of Technical Vocational Studies), today part of the Faculty of Technical Sciences Čačak, electrical engineering has been studied since 1960, following modern trends and achievements in the world of profession and science. Today, it is studied within the study program Electrical Engineering and Computing through two modules:
• Electrical Power Engineering and
• Electronics and Computing

Today, the life and functioning of humanity without the use of electricity is unimaginable. Power plants, transmission and distribution systems, switchgear, electronic telecommunications and computer systems can function efficiently and reliably only thanks to the experience and expertise of electrical engineers who design and maintain them. Therefore, there is always a need for the education of professional master engineers in electrical engineering and computer science who, with their professional knowledge, practice and skills, should ensure the smooth operation of these systems. The implementation of this study program educates engineers who possess high-quality practical knowledge in European and global frameworks, which is guaranteed by curricula that are in line with reference faculties in Europe.
