POWER ENGINEERING

Degree upon completion of studies:
Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Power Engineering

Duration and scope of studies:
4 years, 240 ECTS

Admission exam:
Power Engineering or Physics or Mathematics

Summary of the program:
Power engineering is a subfield of electrical engineering that deals with the generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization of electric power, as well as the electrical apparatus connected to such systems. Power engineers are in charge of the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of industrial equipment that produces power. Special attention is dedicated to studying the changes imposed by the introduction of distributed energy sources.
Engineering careers in power systems include: Electrical power systems engineering, Electrical engineer infrastructure and power distribution, Power supply engineering, Line design engineering, Power transmission and distribution engineering, AC-DC power systems engineering, etc.
Graduated power engineers upon completion of this study program are in charge of designing, operating and maintaining systems of moderate complexity in the field of power engineering.
